The Good, The Bad and The Ugly | How to Use EFT Effectively!

EFT aka Tapping is a great modality to release angst, anger, frustration, or sadness. Clients that apply it consistently love the results. Although many will admit that it’s “weird” (at first).

But let’s say you tried EFT and it just didn’t work for you. It was okay, you felt a little better but you’re just not seeing the results you expected. Before you give up on this modality for good see if you can answer the following questions:

    1. Did You Explore All The Aspects of The Issue? There are times that EFT can work very quickly but most problems are complex. You need to give yourself the time to work through all the different aspects of an issue. For example, you may be tapping on your fear of public speaking when all of a sudden your dad’s face pops up. Start tapping on your dad and see what comes up. What memories, stories, feelings present themselves? These are all clues and should not be dismissed without some digging. Be sure to follow the clues because “there’s gold in them there hills!”

Or if you don’t have time, jot down the image you saw to tap on it the next time you sit down for a tapping session. Moving through as many aspects as possible ensures that you get to the root of an issue.

    2. Were You Consistent? In order to work through a problem you want to make sure that you’re tapping consistently. Give yourself the gift of proper time and focus. As with anything new, you need to apply it consistently to see good results.

    3. Were You Being Really Honest? This is a big stumbling block and one that I encounter myself. A lot of times when you’re dealing with a complex issue, you don’t want to go “there”. It’s too painful or scary. The truth is that’s exactly where you need to go if you want to deal with an issue once and for all. Swear, cry, rant, let it out while you’re tapping and for the love of all things holy BE HONEST! Remember, tapping doesn’t solidify the feeling, it releases it!

A lot of people are afraid to “be negative” because they feel it will attract more negativity. Let’s face it, the universe knows what lurks in your heart, you can’t fool it! When you tap you’re releasing that negativity so you can truly, with every fiber of your being, focus on the positive.

So if you haven’t tapped in awhile, give it another try using these guidelines.
